Superstar Finalists: Ray Scollin, Phillip Jackson, Mary Peeples |
At the age of 12 Ray Scollin picked up his first guitar. Now at age 22 this aspiring song writer has written 2 albums worth of songs, both original music and with a band. He has been slowly building a recording studio in his home after returning from New York where he lived and went to school for music and audio engineering. Ray Scollin music is a collection of Ray's own material, written and recorded solely by him. The songs are heartfelt and descriptive in subject matter stemming anywhere from the loss of friends, how it feels to fall in and out of love, or living in a new city. One thing is certain Ray Scollin music is sure to spark some sort of memory that everyone can connect with and that will be stuck in their heads for days to come.
Mary Peeples is ten years old and attends Valwood. She likes to sing, dance, play soccer, and horseback ride. Mary has been in class plays and was in the Gingerbread Players production of "Babes in Toyland" as well as Peach State Summer Theatre's "Ragtime". She has one sister, Alexandra, age seven.
Phillip G. Jackson a native of Akron, Ohio and born into a singing family. Phillip has been singing since the age of 3. His passion is to reach souls through the gift that God has bestowed upon him in singing the Gospel. Phillip has won several awards from the Bobby Jones Gospel Awards. Phillip's love for singing the praises of God gives him great joy. Phillip is married to Debra Jackson and they share two children DeAngelo and Philela Jackson.
As a United Way organization, the Valdosta Chapter receives support from the agency but we need your support also. Through payroll deductions or designations to the local United Way Campaign, you can support the American Red Cross. Our budget is augmented through rental and sale of Health and Safety courses, materials and equipment, and through fundraising activities:
All funds raised locally are used for chapter programs and services. We are not government funded nor do we receive funds from National Red Cross.
